Decide whether you want the recording preserved as it stands or a more navigable viewing copy. If particular scenes matter, describe them and ask what the quoted editing work covers. Keep an unedited version if you plan to make shorter family highlights later.

Make the tape list useful before calling

Give each cassette a simple reference number and photograph its label. Note whether it is VHS, VHS-C or another format, along with any estimated date and known recording length.
